Go-Va provides clients based mostly in Australia with offshore employees. We are a managed operations company, not a BPO. You will work in the Go-Va office in Cebu and have direct contact daily with your client’s company, who will train you in their policies and procedures. Go-Va management on-site is there to support you and we provide you with many benefits.

For this role, you will be working with a UK-based client.

About the role:

We are now looking to strengthen the team with an Assistant Finance Manager to help meet the demands of WorldRemit’s continuing growth. This is not a conventional finance role.

We interact regularly with both the Operations and Tech teams, and our close involvement with overseas partners provides plenty of opportunities to have a tangible impact on the success of the business. Whilst you won’t need to have worked in the FinTech or the money transfer sector in the past, it’s important that you are a qualified accountant. You will most likely have experience of at least one of the following – audit, cash management, treasury, reconciliations, and reconciliations software.

This role is the perfect opportunity to develop your leadership and management skills in a fast-paced FinTech environment.

Tasks will include:

  • Ensuring the team are meeting their goals on both daily and month-end reconciliations, together with daily refunds
  • Balance workloads of the team to optimize their strengths & weaknesses whilst also considering development opportunities
  • Review/approval of monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Giving active support of month-end close through review of regular journal postings and ensuring the team’s adherence to group reporting standards & deadlines
  • Working with new and our existing partners to improve the quality of reporting received from them
  • Encouraging and assisting the team to proactively investigate and solve any discrepancies uncovered during the reconciliation process
  • Identify areas for operational improvement, particularly in terms of automation and scalability, reflecting the broader growth trajectory of the organization

Skills requirements:

  • Skills requirements
  • Qualified Accountant (ACCA/ACA/CIMA preferable)
  • 4+ years professional experience,
  • Experience of line management of staff
  • Experience working in a financial control team including the management of ledgers and implementation of finance processes.
  • Experience in the use of reconciliation software
  • IT Skills (SQL, VBA Macro) – for example using database query skills to extract ad-hoc data for reporting and analysis
  • Experience in leading projects with timely and successful completion
  • Experience working in an international business, working with foreign currency transactions
